Our Story

My journey into woodworking unexpectedly started with the purchase of a new home. My wife’s first request was for storage shelves in the garage. After some research we found that either the shelves were too expensive or not the right size to fit our current totes. I looked into it more and we were determined to simply make our own. Then they would be exactly what we wanted for less money. I had limited tools and knowledge, but the shelves turned out well. I mentioned to my wife how much I’d enjoyed making the shelves. I’d felt accomplished & fulfilled in a way my current job (as grateful as I am for it) didn’t do.

My wife responded by encouraging me to make more things, maybe even sell them as a side gig. She had plenty of house projects for me to get some practice in. I didn’t put much thought into her comment, after all who would buy something I made? A few weeks later a video popped up on YouTube “5 beginner projects to make and sell”. They looked easy enough that surely even a novice like me could do it. I started making things for our house and family, gaining knowledge and adding tools to my inventory.

The real shock came when I made a blanket ladder for my wife and some family members. I decided to take pictures and make a post selling some. I thought I would get a hit or two. I was wrong. I was making 1-2 ladders a week for a couple months. There was no turning back for me. This was it. This is what I wanted to do. Over the following year I’ve added more and more experience, projects, and home décor under my belt. It’s been humbling to see everyone's responses to the things I made with my own hands.

So thank you for giving me a chance & letting me do something I truly love.
